Adult Training

Adult volunteers are at the heart of Scouting, and we hope that you will get every bit as much out of it as you put in. Scouting is not only about young people, but also about the development of adults within the Movement.

To support adults in Scouting, the Association provides a comprehensive programme of training to build on existing skills and knowledge and develop new competencies.

Some elements of training can count towards externally-recognised qualifications, and within the movement there are also awards to recognise dedication to training and outstanding service.

Online Regional Zoom Training
29/07/2020 By Website Admin
The North East Training Team are presenting a number of Adult Training Modules remotely over the next few months. These will be accessed by Zoom but will closely follow the format of Face-to-Face training. Places may have to be restricted for some Modules so apply as soon as possible to secure a place, these can be found under the 'What's On' section of the website. If you are doing more than one module please apply to these individually
For some modules, information will be sent to you prior to the course in order to help with exercises. This will be sent out along with the Zoom instructions.
Please ensure that meantime, your Safety and Safeguarding training is up to date. This is all accessed on line now as Face to Face Safeguarding Training is being discontinued.
In order to complete these courses, you must successfully pass the quiz at the end with 100% and then a certificate will be available - send a copy or a photo of this to your Training Adviser. We’re working on how to present First Aid training, but the Scout Association has extended the deadline for the completion of this so if you need to update your First Aid training, you will have 6 months to do this once the Readiness Level has moved to Green.

Scotland enters AMBER Phrase
17/07/2020 By Website Admin
From 12pm (17 July) we are moving to the Amber readiness level in Scotland.
So we can begin to deliver face to face activities you must complete your risk assessments and get all the relevant approval by your line manager.
This means for most Scouts in the North East of Scotland you can now organise COVID-19 safe face-to-face activities outdoors only with a maximum group size of 15, including Leaders.
Make sure you read all of the guidance and steps that must be taken before any face-to-face activity can begin:…/change-to-the-covid-19-readiness…/
Should you require your DC's contacts check out the 'Meet the Teamsection.
